The Thrill is Gone….RIP B.B. King
The native Mississippi boy who soulful sung his way from the hole in the wall juke joints all the way to becoming a music icon has died. Riley B. King; as the world knows as B.B King, passed away in his sleep late Thursday night in his Las Vegas home at 89 years old. B.B. King had just announced two weeks ago that he was in home hospice care due to dehydration. He suffered from type 2 diabetes in earlier years.
‘The King of Blues’ who played Lucille (his famous guitar) ever so perfectly leaves us with classic music that can’t ever be duplicated such as, ‘The Thrill is Gone, Rock Me Baby, and Let the Good Times Roll’ and of course a catalog of music that no artist can touch.
Even with his recent health issues King was still touring. His love for music never stopped. BB King has MANY awards and titles under his belt like the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, Presidential Medal of Freedom, and many more. We here at the Lee and Kin Show would like to thank BB King for sharing his timeless music with the world. His musical movement has paved the way for all of us to follow behind. We can all remember our grandparents (and sometimes us too) dancing and twisting to King’s down home blues hits! 15 Grammy’s later and a classic music career, you are now truly the KING and can wear your crown eternally. Rest in Peace.
